The mechanism of Autoclave

Many chemical reactions progress faster under high pressure, comparing to under normal pressure(1 atm), and the chemical reactions that we hardly see under normal pressure occurs.
When heating water-containing materials in a normal condition, a large part of moisture inside the materials will be lost by changing to steam at around 100 ℃, the boiling point of water. Under high pressure however, it is possible to heat materials while keeping moisture inside even at the temperature above 100℃.
This property is applied to special chemical reactions, molding of physical composite materials, or sterilization in medical and/or biochemical fields.
